Terms & Conditions Of Business For Peak District Helicopters

All vouchers purchased and flights taken are subject to these Terms and Conditions of Business for Peak District Helicopters. Any dissatisfaction with these terms must be brought to our attention within 7 days of purchase.

All open tickets in terms of date and venue need to be booked in for a flight date scheduled to take place within 12 MONTHS of the start date shown on the ticket.

On Your Flight Day

To save an unnecessary journey please follow the details given on your boarding pass prior to your flight, to listen to a recorded message to check whether the flights are able to take place, as regards weather / unforeseen reasons – please do not ring the venue. Our pilots will always do their best to ensure flights go ahead, however safety is always our main priority and no compromise will be made when deciding if a flight should continue.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the flight time to check in, where you may be asked for identification and your weight will be checked. Any late arrivals may render the voucher invalid.

Flight Information

The helicopters used are either a Bell 206L Long-Ranger or Jet-Ranger. Depending on the number of seats purchased you may be sharing the helicopter with up to 6 passengers.

All quoted flight times are approximate and routes may vary on the day of the flight due to Air Traffic restrictions, local poor weather conditions or other operational reasons.

Peak District Helicopters reserve the right to postpone any event due to a lack of participants.

The Pilot of the aircraft or any member of the ground crew, can at their own discretion refuse any person on board the aircraft if he/she suspects them to have consumed alcohol or illegal substances/drugs within the previous 24 hours for safety reasons to others or if any form of abuse is given to members of staff.

Any passengers not obeying or respecting the safety points given prior to the flight may be refused to fly for safety reasons.

Unfortunately not all locations are able to offer welfare and refreshment facilities.

Our flying season is from the beginning of April until the end of October (subject to location availability and weather).

Conditions Of Flight

Unless otherwise specified each ticket entitles one person (of maximum weight 95kg/15 stone) to a flight from one of our operational venues, either of the length specified or as a credit towards a longer helicopter flight. If a passenger is over 95kg/15 stones please advise at the time of booking-in, by contacting the office.

Please be as honest as possible with weights as this assists us with a safe planned flight manifest – weights will be checked on the day and any incorrect information may prevent the passenger from flying.

All passengers should ensure that they are in good health and if in doubt should contact the office or seek medical advice.

The Pilot and any ground crew member can, at his/her discretion refuse any person on board the aircraft if they suspect the passenger to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

All quoted flight times, durations, distances and routes are approximate and may vary on the day of the flight due to volume of air traffic or other operational reasons.

The company reserves the right to change dates and venues at its discretion due to operational circumstances. Current dates and venues are available on the website.

Refund Policy

On a flight day our pilot needs to assess the weather conditions at 2000 feet for the whole day from the helicopter’s positioning location and over a 50 mile radius from the venue. If your helicopter flight is cancelled due to the forecasted, actual weather conditions, any unforeseen circumstances, (e.g. Helicopter serviceability, crew availability, emergency aerial tasks) or public health reasons, please contact our office to re-schedule. If your experience is postponed on five or more occasions we will consider a refund (minus 20% administration fee) if agreed by both parties. We will NOT refund if it postponed less than this amount due to the administration required.

The validity of the ticket is extended for a further 12 months following the cancelled helicopter flight date by us, but will become void if not booked in for another flight date scheduled to take place before this additional 12 month period elapses. Refunds are not given due to the above cancellation reasons.

Peak District Helicopters shall not be held responsible for the costs of travel, accommodation or any other associated costs should your flight be cancelled for any reason, including any of the above points.

We are unable to refund the cost of any flight voucher following an event postponement, including but not limited to those reasons listed above. The vouchers are however, transferable to another passenger name providing we are notified in writing prior to the new booking at least 14 days prior to the rebooked flight and the new weights do not cause an operational issue.

It should be noted that any participant(s) failing to take their confirmed flight will render the voucher invalid. Changes to a confirmed booking can only be made via the online booking portal or contacting the office and require a minimum of 14 days’ notice before the flight date, except where ‘flexible cancellation’ has been activated. In the event of the flight being cancelled by us, then your flight voucher remains valid until the expiry date shown and will be rebooked for a mutually convenient date.

If your flight has been cancelled and the voucher has expired, we allow a 6 week ‘grace’ period for the customers to rebook.

Cancellation by the consumer in other circumstances than the above will be considered. A refund less 25% will be charged by the company.

If you are dissatisfied with your purchase this must be brought to our attention by telephoning our office, within 7 days of date of purchase, where you can obtain a full refund. At this point we will ask you to return the voucher(s), explain your reasons (so we can consider our own improvements) and the refund will be issued upon receipt.

Shipping & Delivery

Any Voucher(s) will be posted out 2nd class royal mail within 7 working days (depending on the urgency of the gift) if orders are placed before 4.00pm.

All orders qualify for free UK postage and packaging. We do not offer split shipment of goods at this time.

Late Cancellation

A passenger cancelling a seat within 72 hours of the flight, not turning up for a flight or arriving late, will invalidate the ticket as seats cannot be re-allocated at this late stage. This ticket is transferable, if you do not wish / unable to take the flight.

Liability

Whilst every precaution is taken for the safety of passengers and spectators neither the owner / operator of the helicopter, nor Peak District Helicopters, accept responsibility for loss or damage of goods or injury to persons in designated operational areas.

When the public / passengers are away from the designated operational area, Peak District Helicopters accept no responsibilities for injuries, occurrences, or damages which may occur to passengers, friends, relatives, any spectators or the public.

Participants wishing to take cameras and other photographic equipment on the flight do so entirely at their own risk. Under no circumstances can these be positioned outside of any aircraft windows.

A fuel surcharge may be applicable at the point of booking if the price of aviation fuel is affected by any changes in Tax regulations or any other significant increase within the UK exceeding 10% during the voucher validity.

Any upgrade from the original purchase/flight choice may deem the initial voucher void and your final flight may be different.

The cost to repair damage caused to the aircraft or its equipment (including but not limited to; avionic headsets, life jackets, etc.) through neglect, misuse or abuse will be chargeable to the user.

Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
